Black Friday Camera Deals: What Is Worth Opening

Which Sony, Canon, Fujifilm and Nikon I would actually open at the end of November. Plus the card, the bag and the one lens, without which a discounted body is just an expensive box.

November 1, 2026

The end of November gets loud. In 2026 Black Friday is 27 November, the Monday after is Cyber Monday, and in Germany the shouting often starts a week earlier. I wrote this page because I do not want to click a crossed-out number before I know which camera I actually want.

Percentages are left out on purpose. In early November I do not know them yet. And a crossed-out recommended price is often just the price the camera already had in October. Behind the button is today's Amazon page. For me it is a deal when the same camera sits clearly under what it cost in recent weeks.

If you are not settled on a brand yet and you want a camera for the next few years, I would start with the Sony A6700. The first Canon I would put in a beginner's hands is the R10. Light full frame is the R8. A jacket pocket fits the Sony RX100 VII or the Fujifilm X100VI. At Nikon, with a short lens and a small bag, the Z5 II. If you are just starting and want to stay under about €1,000, also read camera for beginners. If you want the hobby without waiting for a discount: best camera for hobby photographers.

Which camera is worth it on Black Friday

The A6700 is the camera I would give most people once the price gives. You look through a viewfinder, the body holds the picture steadier, and autofocus finds faces and animals. The sensor is APS-C: bigger than a phone, smaller than full frame. Full frame is about the size of an old 35mm negative. You get a bit more room in the evening and softer backgrounds. Nice if that is what you want. For family, travel and the weekend you do not need it automatically.

At Canon it depends where you stand. If you are starting, the R10 is the camera I would put in your hands. If you want the full-frame look and can live with a body that does not steady your shake, it becomes the R8. If you shoot in the evening from the hand, the extra money for the R6 Mark II is worth it, because that steadiness is the reason to spend more. Fujifilm, for me, stays the X100VI. It rarely gets cheap, even when the ads are red. At Nikon I would take the Z5 II, for photographing and for carrying. The Z6 III once video belongs. The Z8 only if you work with it. Even with a thick discount it stays an expensive, heavy camera.

Open these four first

A6700, R8, Z5 II and X100VI

If I only opened four pages on Friday, these would be them. The A6700, because it is enough for most people without locking you to a brand first. The R8, because it is light full frame and you should know the missing stabilisation before you buy. The Z5 II, because it is the body I would buy new today for short lenses. The X100VI, because it is a camera with nothing to swap. Today's price is on Amazon.

How you recognise a real camera deal

Shops love the high number with a line through it. Next to it sits a price the camera already had in October, and it still feels like a discount. I compare with that October price. Twenty euros under a recommendation nobody paid is not a reason for me to pull out the card.

What annoys me every year: a cheap body, and the lens is forgotten. Without glass there is no picture. The zoom from the kit is enough for learning and goes dark as soon as the sun leaves. A bright prime, a lens that does not zoom and lets a lot of light through, often costs another €200 to €600. I add that before I get happy about the body. I only buy a three-year-old camera when it sits clearly under the current model. Otherwise the newer one is on the shelf in January, and I am annoyed.

Four checks: ignore the list price, the price of recent weeks, body plus lens, older models only with a real gap
The comparison that counts is the price the camera actually had recently.

Which camera are you looking for on Black Friday?

Pick the line that sounds like your days, and stay there. The A6700 is my answer if you are not settled on a brand yet. If you are already at Canon, the same idea is the R8, or the R6 Mark II if you shoot in the evening from the hand. At Nikon, the Z5 II. At the bottom you stop looking for a new body. If the camera is already there, a card, a bag and a prime are the better basket.

Black Friday decision tree: beginner camera, Sony A6700, a small travel camera, or accessories only
No clear yes means wait. A bad price in Black Week is still a bad buy.

Sony

Sony cameras on Black Friday

Sony is the brand I have used most on this page, so the list is tighter than the shelf suggests. I would take the A6700 when the camera should cover a hobby, family and travel and you are still free to choose. You look through a viewfinder, the body holds the picture steadier, autofocus finds faces and animals. In early November the body often sat somewhere between €1,200 and €1,400. The long text is the Sony A6700 review.

The ZV-E10 II is the same generation, only without a viewfinder and without steadiness in the body. In early November it often sat around €850 to €900. It fits if you mostly film and the screen is enough. In the sun, with the camera at your eye, you will miss the viewfinder. Then it is the wrong attempt to save money on the A6700. More in the Sony ZV-E10 II review.

I give the A7 IV to people who work with it. Full frame, about 33 megapixels, two cards, steadiness in the body. For a weekend with the family it is often more than you still want to carry at the end of the day. If you need it, wait for a price under recent weeks. A colourful corner in the ad is not a reason. Sony A7 IV review. The RX100 VII is the other end. About 300 grams, the zoom is built in. I take that instead of hanging a 70–200 around my neck all day and leaving it in the hotel in the evening. In the evening you notice the smaller sensor. Sony RX100 VII review.

Sony on Amazon

Sony A6700, ZV-E10 II, A7 IV, RX100 VII

Four pages I would actually open. The A6700 should last the next few years. The ZV-E10 II is the lighter one once the viewfinder does not matter. The A7 IV only if full frame belongs to your work. The RX100 VII when the camera should go in a jacket and the zoom has to be built in.

Canon

Canon cameras on Black Friday

The R10 is the Canon I recommend as a first camera once the price gets friendly. You have a viewfinder, and autofocus recognises subjects. It does not steady shake in the body. Either the kit lens catches it, or you hold steadier. I have tested the even cheaper R100. I would not use it for learning. There is too little camera in it. Canon R10 review.

The R8 is the light full frame. In early November it often sat around €1,200 to €1,450. The same picture idea as the larger sibling, only without steadiness in the body and with a smaller battery. If you shoot in the evening from the hand, I would add the money for the R6 Mark II. It steadies shake in the body, has two cards and a larger battery, often about €1,850 to €2,100.

The R7 is a different job. Smaller sensor, about 32 megapixels, steadiness, two cards, in the review roughly €1,150 to €1,500. The smaller sensor makes your lenses feel longer. You pull a bird or the edge of the field closer without buying a huge zoom. For a portrait at the window that is rarely the reason to spend more than on the R10. The reviews: R8, R6 Mark II, R7.

Canon on Amazon

Canon R10, R8, R6 Mark II and R7

The R10 for learning. With the R8 you have to know the body does not steady your shake, or the full-frame look is an expensive purchase. The R6 Mark II once that steadiness is the reason for the extra money. The R7 when you want animals or the edge of the field closer.

Fujifilm

Fujifilm X100 on Black Friday

At Fujifilm I have carried two cameras for a long time. It is basically the same idea, once with steadiness and once without. The X100VI has a fixed focal length. You do not zoom. You step closer or you step back. Viewfinder at your eye, steadiness in the body, about 520 grams. It typically costs €1,800 to €2,000. The price rarely goes properly down. The camera is scarce, and a lot of people want it. If it sits on Amazon at the normal price, that is not a find. It is the price it has anyway. Fujifilm X100VI review.

The X100V is the previous one, without steadiness in the body. I would only take it when the gap to the VI is really large. A small discount, and you give up steadier photos in the evening, is too little saved for me. Fujifilm X100V review. A camera with interchangeable lenses, such as the X-T5, is not a dedicated review here. If you want dials and several lenses, the X100 is the wrong drawer. Then look at the Nikon or Sony sections above, or the camera brands overview.

The X100VI is the one I would want. The X100V only if it costs clearly less and you can do without steadiness in the body in the evening.

Nikon

Nikon cameras on Black Friday

On trips I shoot with a Nikon. The 28mm is on, the 50mm sits beside it, the bag is small. I leave a 70–200 at home. I haul it all day, and in the end it stays in the pocket. The camera I would buy new today for exactly that way of walking is the Z5 II. Full frame, steadiness in the body, two cards, and several hundred euros under the Z6 III if you mostly photograph. There is no long dedicated review yet. How I think about this on trips is in camera for travel, and the bag is in small camera bag.

The Z6 III comes in when photo and video get serious together. In the review, typically about €1,900 to €2,100 for the body. Nikon Z6 III review. The Zf is the one with the dials. It is fun if you want to photograph that way. The grip is flat, and one of the card slots is a small card, not a second full SD. Buy it because you want the Zf. A reduced price is a bad reason if you actually need a Z5 II. Nikon Zf review. The Z8 is the working camera. High resolution, in the review roughly €3,600 to €4,100, large and heavy. Even a thick discount does not make it a weekend camera. Nikon Z8 review.

Nikon Z5 II, Z6 III, Zf and Z8

The Z5 II is the one I would take for photographing and for carrying. The Z6 III once video belongs. The Zf because the dials are fun, not because it is reduced. The Z8 only as a tool for jobs.

DJI Osmo Pocket 3 on Black Friday

The Osmo Pocket 3 is a small video camera. Inside sits a gimbal, a little rig that holds the camera steady while you walk. For clips on the move that is pleasant. For photos you later want large, it does not replace an A6700, an R8 or a Z5 II. I have not written a long review of it. How it sits next to other cameras for filming is in vlog camera for YouTube.

I am not linking a GoPro here. I have not tested a current model on this page, and a camera for a helmet is a different device from the bodies above. If you need one, you usually already know what for. Then you compare again with the price of recent weeks.

Accessories that finish the camera deal

Without a card, nothing happens with a new camera. For most bodies on this page a SanDisk Extreme PRO with 128 gigabytes and V30 is enough. V30 is the class that writes normal photos and ordinary 4K. V60 and V90 are worth it when the manual asks, or you shoot very fast bursts. The maths is in best SD card for a camera. I leave a no-name card in a three-pack, just because it looks cheap next to the body.

What often gets forgotten on Black Friday is the light. The zoom from the kit goes dark as soon as the sun leaves. A prime at f/1.8 lets more light onto the sensor, and the background goes softer. At Canon and Sony the small 50mm is the cheap next step. At Nikon the 50mm f/1.8 S is more serious and more expensive. It is the lens that sits beside my camera. Which focal length does what is in which lens for what.

Whether the camera comes along is decided by the bag in the end. Six litres are enough for a body with a short lens and a prime beside it. A 70–200 turns that into a backpack again, and that one is more likely to stay in the hotel. My set fits the ROGUE 6L. The alternatives are in small camera bag.

Add to the basket

SD card, camera bag and 50mm

I almost always put the card in the basket. The bag, if the camera should stay small. The prime has to match the mount: Canon on Canon, Sony on Sony, Nikon on Nikon. A Canon 50mm does not sit on a Sony.

FAQ

Common questions about the camera deals

When is Black Friday 2026 for cameras?
27 November 2026. The Monday after, 30 November, is Cyber Monday. In Germany many shops start the week before. For me a deal only counts when the price sits under recent weeks.
Is a crossed-out list price a camera deal?
Usually it is not. The recommended price sat above what people actually paid for a long time on many cameras. Look at the October price of the same camera. And if only the body is reduced, add the lens.
Which camera is most worth it on Black Friday?
If you do not have a brand yet, the Sony A6700. As a first cheaper Canon, the R10. As light full frame, the R8, and the R6 Mark II if you also want steadiness in the body. For a jacket pocket, the RX100 VII or the X100VI. At Nikon, for photographing, the Z5 II.
Should I buy a body or a kit on Black Friday?
A body is a good price if you already have the lens, or you buy it on purpose. A kit with the dark zoom from the box is enough for learning. For evening light, a prime at f/1.8 is usually the better second line than another body.
Is an older camera worth it just because it is reduced?
Only when the gap to the current model is large. The A6100, A6400, the first ZV-E10, the R100 and the X100V are not automatic bargains. If they sit close to the price of the newer sibling, take the newer one.
Which accessories should I order with the camera?
A brand SD card with 128 GB V30, unless the manual asks for something faster. A small bag if you want to carry the camera. A prime for the same mount, if the body only comes with a dark zoom. Canon glass does not sit on Sony.
Shop buttons are affiliate links to Amazon (partner ID martinkleinhe-20). If you buy through them, I get a small commission. The price stays the same for you. No brand paid for this page. The price bands are European street prices from the linked reviews and guides, as of early November 2026, not the Black Friday prices. Today's price is on the Amazon page.
